Cocktail, A Hard To Find Red Floribunda

You won't often see this rose, it's a little hard to obtain. But if you can get one, then it makes a great addition to any garden. While generally found as a shrub, you can train it to climb if you have the right conditions.

Individually, these flowers are quite pretty, but nothing special. It's only when you see a large bush covered with blooms, that you appreciate just how lovely they are. Being a Floribunda, they are prolific flowering, and will give flushes right through the growing season. The photograph below was taken on the winter solstice, so they do hang in with flowers long past summer.

Flowers are small to medium, single, and rather light on perfume while being heavy on thorns. If you live in a warmer climate, then Cocktail is more than happy to climb for you. Many people grow it as a shrub which I think is a waste of potential... this rose looks at its best when climbing.
