However, it most cultures now it has a much more positive meaning, usually based around friendship or happiness.

A yellow rose bouquet is a good choice if you just want to convey friendship, without going into the "romantic zone". Definitely an option if you have a platonic friend of the opposite sex. If you want to keep things as friends, you can even include the meaning so that there are no hard feelings! However, yellow roses with red tips can mean friendship turning into something more! Similar to the pink roses, they are a nice neutral pick when you don't know the person that well. They could easily go to a colleague or recent graduate just as easily as a wife or spouse.
